The goal of this seminar series is two fold:
Each week, there will be a talk by one of the participants, inclding the group members and students. There will be a lot of discussion. Talks are on experimental quantum matter research. The topocis are usually
Before each talk, you will get a paper (often a more easy-to-read review) that will help you understand the talk. Still, we don’t expect you to alwasy understand everything. It’s a bit like when you go to a conference: depending on the talk, you get the main idea or all the technical details or all or some of it. You are encouraged to ask questions.
You should ask questions and give us feedback. You will also give one presentation. You are quite free with the subject, but plase discuss it with me, at least 4 weeks before your presentation.
Your grade will be based on your presentation, including on how you answer questions during or after the talk.
We will update the schedule here, and comunicate per email.
We will do the seminar in Room MU118. To find us, take the tunnel across Amalienstrasse 75. Then take the door to your right in the middle of the tunnel to enter a long corridor. You will find the door to MU118 on the right hand side. Sometimes (when the speaker is in Leiden), we will have the semiar on the following link https://lmu-munich.zoom-x.de/my/x892376.milan?pwd=g1sWzQiNXcNel1ubxyvak68gbbgqMW.1
The schedule will change, and we will continousely update it. The student talks will be at the end.
